Alm Rock – via ferrata over the rooftop

Adventure deluxe

Hey, I'm Len, summer intern and son of Christoph and Simone. This is my second year working as a receptionist and climbing guide. I've had the opportunity to meet many interesting people and gain new experiences. In this blog, I'll be sharing the adventurous experience of our Alm Rock and our high ropes course.

The tour starts with getting your climbing harness and helmet. I'll then show you how our "Click It" safety system works so that you can feel completely safe and comfortable up there. Next, I'll provide some basic information about climbing, the zipline, and the high ropes course. Then, we can begin. You have the option to climb on a steel cable or use a rope with a built-in fall stopper.

Once you've made your choice, you can start climbing. When you reach the top of our twelve-meter-high climbing tower, you'll face a wobbly suspension bridge. This bridge leads to our rooftop. To conquer this obstacle, you'll need to carefully step from plank to plank. To get from the bridge onto the Almlust rooftop, you'll have to climb a small ladder.

Once on the rooftop, you can relax for a moment before tackling the next and perhaps most nerve-wracking obstacle: the 80-meter long zipline that takes you from the Almlust rooftop into our high ropes course. Up on the roof, most people start to get a little nervous. But if you muster the courage and jump off, you'll fly through the air and experience a kind of freedom that you've likely never felt before. You'll have a panoramic view of the entire Almdorf and a large part of Flachau.

Once on the other side, you can decide if that was enough adventure for you or if you want to continue into our high ropes course. If you haven't had enough adventure and decide to keep going, a short zipline will take you directly into the high ropes course, where various obstacles await you. From climbing nets to loops and balancing beams, you're guaranteed an adventure.

The high ropes course often reminds me of my childhood, as it is comparable to the feeling you had as a child playing on a playground. Up there, you can move freely through the park. If you either complete all the obstacles or have had enough adventure, you can conclude the climbing experience with one last thrill on the final zipline.

To relax a bit after this adventure, I recommend ordering a drink at our day bar and sitting comfortably by our Alm Lake.  The via ferrata is suitable for almost everyone, whether beginner or advanced, as the diversity of the Alm Rock and the high ropes course makes little difference.
